Let’s talk language - speaking and understanding.

Language is a two lane pathway; how someone expresses their thoughts and feelings (expressive language), and how they understand the information that is being said to them (receptive language).

Language is an essential skill that allows a person to engage with others socially, follow instructions within a school or workplace setting and to explain their own thoughts and feelings. A Speech Pathologist can help a child who has either or both expressive and receptive language difficulties. Click here for a guide to the language milestones/what to expect in normal language development from 12 months to 5 years. If you have any concerns that your child hasn’t met the milestones by the age that they are expected, feel free to get in touch with us.
